About Coach

The priority growing up was always football, but I’ve always dabbled in everything sport-related. I love to compete and think I will forever; something about it makes it all the more memorable. I’d encourage anyone to get involved in sport, particularly team sports, and I think that’s why CrossFit has stuck around for me… There are so many opportunities to compete with your mates. Weightlifting was a progression from good strength numbers and, ultimately, trying to convert that into something competitive. I had a great experience competing in an international masters weightlifting competition, came 9th, only made my 3rd snatch… it was definitely type 2 fun. The biggest highlight in all this was either winning a team of 6 comp in Southampton or my 170kg clean at one and all games.

Turning Point

You’ve got to keep putting yourself out there. That’s where you learn, where the growth is, and where the memories are made. Big or small, it’s all relevant.

Motivation & Passion

All of a sudden, you realise you've been doing it for quite a while. The experience gained from personal successes and failures means that I can understand how it feels in a lot of cases. I think I have a good technical understanding of getting the most tin overhead. My approach is probably, if you’re willing to work, I can find a way to improve your lifting, in terms of kilos but also quality.
